Employment and Training Start-up
This is money paid to help you with the initial costs of starting a part-time/full-time job or an approved employment activity. The money is a maximum of $500 a year and it can be paid out in a lump sum at the beginning of your employment or in small installments over a 12 month period. This money can be used for things like:
- travel
- clothing and grooming
- special equipment
- short training costs
- safety equipment
- child care costs
- supplies & equipment
- protective clothing
- telephone expenses
- criminal checks and medical exams or certificates for community placement
